9-Year-Old Kid Thrives Solo for 2 Years!
In their guardians, kids find warmth, support, and affection. In their hugs, they discover a safe place to grow, learn and flourish. Sadly, not every parent is willing to go far for the happiness of their child.
The sad truth is that some parents ignore and leave their children instead of caring for them.
This story from southwest France is a heartbreaking example of what a mother should never be.
For two long years, a nine-year-old boy had to take care of himself after his mother ran away from the apartment they shared. Despite all the difficulties he faced alone, he showed amazing cleverness and willpower.
After living by himself for several months, some neighbors started to wonder if the boy was really on his own. They couldn’t be sure because he always looked well-dressed and did great in school. That’s why neither his teachers nor classmates raised any alarms.
But at home? He had to deal with tough times. He lived without electricity or hot water and mostly ate canned food along with tomatoes and other veggies he picked from nearby gardens or received from kind neighbors.
Ironically enough, his mother lived just 5 km away in another town but hardly ever checked on him or helped him out. The role of the boy’s father was unclear; it seemed like he wasn’t around at all.
It took nearly two years before one neighbor finally told authorities about this abandoned child.
The full story came out during court hearings when phone records showed how absent the mother was in her son’s life. Even though she denied it all, neighbors confirmed that she left him alone.
The court found her guilty of neglecting her child and abandoning him; she got an 18-month prison sentence while the boy went into foster care.
While in foster care? His mom only visited once! As he got closer to being a teenager, he decided it was best to cut ties with her completely.
It’s truly impressive how this young boy managed not only to survive but also excel as a student without any family support around him! His strength & determination are simply remarkable!
